West Indian American Labor Day Parade

Monday, September 2, 2019 September 2, 2019 LUMA Hotel Times Square

The New York Caribbean Carnival (also known as the West Indian American Labor Day Parade) in Brooklyn is a celebration and expression of Caribbean cultural pride. The festival features five full days of activities, which culminate in a massive parade that attracts a million audience members every year. It’s a great chance to experience firsthand the City’s trademark diversity—and, of course, to purchase the foods, crafts, books, clothing, art, jewelry and more offered by vendors on the route. With participants that represent various Caribbean nations, spectators are treated to a range of traditional cultural displays including steel band music, reggae, calypso and soca music.
